ASL Friends United, the ASL & Interpreting Student Organization at
Austin Community College, and Austin Interpreters for the Deaf,
proudly present the workshop “Utilizing Visual Aspects of ASL” on
Saturday, October 18, 2008 that will be presented by David Rivera,
M.S.
The workshop includes BEI and RID CUEs approved.
Let me explain David Rivera’s biography. He is a graduate of
Lexington
School for the Deaf in NYC. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in ASL
Studies at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and a Master’s
Degree in Deaf Education at McDaniel College. He currently holds
ASLTA
provisional certificate. David is a full-time professor in the ASL &
Deaf Studies and ASL-English Interpreting Programs at Union County
College in New Jersey. He is also an actor and ASL storyteller with
specialty in ASL classifiers. David has taught workshops on ASL
Classifiers in the numerous places.
