Message from DAD President 11/14/08

Hello DAD Members and Friends –

I had a really nice “mini” weekend visit in Dallas, recently, during
the Annual Awards Night. I was fortunate to have a sister who was able
to take care of my Mom while I was in Dallas.

I want to congratulate Marianne Sasseen, Chair of the Annual Awards
Night, for a successful evening. Dr. Angel Ramos, our keynote speaker,
gave us an excellent presentation about “partnership” and “teamwork”.
I know I had mentioned often about how teamwork is very important to
keep our organization together and strong. Partnership is what I
believe in, as well. Every organization may have a different mission
yet we can join together for a specific project and/or mission in
order to reach our bigger goals.

I hope we will have the Annual Awards Night powerpoints and pictures
on our DAD webpage “Photo Gallery” by the end of this month.

I regret to inform you t hat it was necessary for us to cancel the
Halloween Party a couple weeks ago, due to an unexpected personal
issue.

While the Annual DAD Bowling Tournament last Saturday attracted more
fans than bowlers the fans were able to see their old friends and make
new ones. Congratulations goes to Harold Stuart, who rolled 925 in
four games with handicap, James Cooksey who was just 24 pins short
with total of 901, and then Joan McCowin, who came with 895 pins .
Bowlers and fans went to DAD afterwards to socialize and to play
cards.

This Saturday, Nov 15, the Winter Holidays for the Children Committee
will sell delicious lasagna, salad, garlic bread & dessert for only
$6.00! They will begin to serve at 5:30PM. They also will have 50-50
fundraising raffle tickets. The holidays are coming just around the
corner! Come and show your support for the Winter Holidays for the
Children. The committee did an excellent job last year and are marking
their goal to be the same for this year too. Adults, please remember
to secure (RSVP) a present/gift for your child or children from Santa.
You must sign and submit the form by Dec 6.

The Christmas Ornaments and Crafts Party will be held on Dec 13, and
the Chair of this is Maria Walker. She will need you to RSVP your
