Important Human Relations Commission meeting
The Fort Worth Human Relations Commission will meet Monday, Jan 5 at
5:30 p.m. to discuss recommendations to the City Council regarding the
deaf and hard of hearing community. The meeting is open to the public.
Attached is a copy of the meeting agenda. (see below) Interpretive and
CART services will be provided at this meeting. Please don’t

A. The Fort Worth Human Relations Commission’s recommendations to
the City Manager
and City Council on matters pertaining to the deaf and hard of
hearing community:
• Accessibility to City owned and operated facilities;
• Training for the Fort Worth Police Department on issues
pertaining to the deaf and hard of hearing;
• Public Education program regarding City’s Special Needs
Assistance Program (SNAP);
• Review of the City’s disability programs and employment
policies/procedures to maximize opportunities for the deaf and hard of
hearing; and
• Provision of sign interpretive services or Communication Access
Realtime Translation (CART) services for the deaf and hard of hearing.
B. Citywide forum regarding issues pertaining to the deaf and hard of
hearing.
C. Cancel January 27, 2009, meeting of the Fort Worth Human Relations
Commission.
VIII. Action Items
A. Adopt the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission’s
recommendations to the City
Manager and City Council on matters pertaining to the deaf and hard
of hearing
community.
B. Cancel January 27, 2009, meeting of the Fort Worth Human Relations
