Fort Worth Human Relations Commission’s Recommendations are
Resolution on City Council Agenda!
Join us on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, in support of Item XII, Number
1 to be voted on by the Fort Worth City Council. The Resolution reads:
A Resolution Accepting Recommendations Pertaining to City Services,
Policies, Procedures and Accommodations for the Deaf and Hard of
Hearing.
This is the moment many in the deaf and hard of hearing community
along with members of the hearing community and the Commission have
worked for. It is an important step for the City of Fort Worth and
North Texas, because it represents badly needed changes for those
persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, who are losing their hearing
later in life, and for people with disabilities. Bring family and
friends to witness this important time in our history.
The Fort Worth City Council Meeting will begin at 10:00 AM in the
City Council Chambers in City Hall at 1000 Throckmorton Street in
Downtown Fort Worth on Tuesday, January 27, 2009.

On January 13, 2009, Estrus Tucker, Chair of the Human Relations
Commission presented the Commission’s recommendations to the City
Council. The meeting was well attended by the deaf and hard of hearing
community. Many witnessed how important their input was in making the
recommendations and this resolution possible. We look forward to
seeing you on the 27th.
