FORT WORTH RESCHEDULES CITY COUNCIL MEETING! RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO
DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING COMMUNITY IS ON AGENDA! AND BLOGSITE RETURNS!
The Fort Worth City Council Meeting cancelled last week due to unsafe
weather conditions has been rescheduled. The rescheduled meeting will
take place on Tuesday, February 3rd, at 7:00 PM. The resolution based
on the recommendations of the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission
(HRC) is on the agenda to be considered. The deaf and hard of hearing
community, including family, friends and supporters are encouraged to
attend in support of the Council passing the resolution.
The recommendations as they were presented by the HRC on January 13th
are posted on blog-site http://yourvotecountsp2.wordpress.com on the
HRC Page. Also see the Action Page, which shows a list of actions or
invitations to participate in the political process. The focus is to
get more people with disabilities including those who are deaf and
hard of hearing voting, especially with local and state elections
coming up. The blog-site is a work in progress. Be sure to leave
questions, comments and suggestions and watch for new information.
In support of the resolution to be considered by the Fort Worth City
Council on February 3rd, see the campaign to call Fort Worth City Hall
on Monday and Tuesday, February 2nd and 3rd also on the Action Page.
We ask for your help in using this occasion as an opportunity to give
City Hall the experience of receiving calls via the various
technologies and equipment used by the deaf and hard of hearing
community.
