Goodrich Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Fort Worth is
still open, still offering services. Normal hours are Monday through
Friday, 8:30 – 5:00.

Deaf Senior Citizens meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. They enjoy games, crafts, educational talks, socializing,
and a hot lunch provided by Senior Citizen Services of Greater Tarrant
County. The Deaf Senior Citizens group uses sign language and welcomes
new members and guests age 60 and up.

The Hearing Loss Association of Fort Worth meets on the second
Saturday of each month from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. “The Hearing Loss
Association of America is the nations foremost membership and advocacy
organization for people with hearing loss. HLAA opens the world of
communication to people with hearing loss through information,
education, support, and advocacy.” Persons with hearing loss and
their families and friends are encouraged to attend Fort Worth chapter
meetings. Programs are interesting and helpful, and the group is
supportive. Communication access is provided by an assistive listening
system and realtime captioning on a large screen.

Videophone (VP) service is open for free public use during regular
business hours, Monday – Friday.

Deaf Action Center (Dallas) now rents space for services at Goodrich

Deafness Resource Specialist Emily Robinson can assist people who are
Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Late-Deafened in the areas of advocacy, self
empowerment, and sensitivity training, as well as Federal and State
mandates on equal access to services, including education and

Hearing Loss Resource Specialist Karen Moulder can assist people who
are Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened, or Deaf (and their families),
offering communication strategies and technology solutions for the

Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, Office for Deaf
