SWCID REUNION 2010

There was a lot of SWCID Reunion 2010 committee members. Some of them
arrived by airlines and some drove by vehicle. Everyone arrived safely
in Big Spring, Texas. On February 27, 2009 (Friday) it was a very
beautiful day and the weather was just right. But there was a very odd
weather and climate the next day. It became very cold and windy. Few
of SWCID Reunion 2010 committee were sick by the weather situation.

I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to AL PACE for being our guide to
us around town in Big Spring, but the time was running out because we
were very busy to do around in Big Spring town, meeting, check on
SWCID Museum and other errands to do. Al Pace was very enthusiasms,
patient, helpful, and friendly person.

I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to MARK MYERS for his support on
our SWCID Reunion 2010 Committee for our futures plan in July 2010. He
was very good advice and helpful.

I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to CHRISTINE KAMAL for preparing
and questions about our SWCID Reunion 2010. She was very helpful to
make sure everything is in control and she wants to make everything
look good for SWCID Reunion 2010.

I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to LISA LOPEZ-SANTOS for coming as
her second trip to SWCID Reunion 2010 meeting, and helpful.

I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to VIRGINIA CARTER for helping
Haden Lambert and Rungsit Wongsaprome to fix the scanner and computer
for the pictures. She was very helpful and friendly.

I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to JOHN GREEN and CANDACE ANDERSON
for being involved in the SWCID Reunion 2010 to prepare plans for our
futures.

I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to HADEN LAMBERT and RUNGSIT
WONGSAPROME for their work on the scanning some of the pictures. They
also took the pictures around in SWCID Museum.

Mark Myers, Provost of SWCID informed us about SWCID. There will be a
new name added but will not change SWCID’s name and just added name.
SWCID will still have the same name as long as shining good name for
history. Here is: SWCID : COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR THE DEAF AND HARD OF
HEARING. This is community college and this is not VOC. This is higher
level of education.

We finally saw the new building where they will have the mechanic,
welding, and construction classes there. The building will be done
very soon. There will not be any need for transportation to Howard
College.. It was save their gas money. The SWCID student will walk
toward the new building on the (east side of SWCID building). That is
great ones.

Also for dental lab tech, they got new equipment because everything
were change from past to present. In past they had to do it the old
way. Today everything change to new and there were new technologies..
It was great.

For art class, there were changes because there are new technologies,
too. There were very good art class that we saw it. It was amazing
pictures.

For Welding class, Mark told us about situation and Al Pace take us
to Howard College which SWCID student took the welding classes. We
were shocked and surprised. 12 SWCID student work hard to make 1,000
horseshoes as rattlesnake. We took pictures and we will get more
information to our SWCID Reunion 2010 yearbooks. We want to say how
proud of them to support our SWCID.

We will work on the early-bird combo. Remember the prices are
cheaper. We will announce soon. Our SWCID dorm will be open for
everyone who want to sleep there for. This will be a first come first
serve basis. We already discussed with Mark about Howard College Dorm
if Cheri will approve or not. We will let you know next newsletter.
SWCID Dorm have only 42 room.

Another news, in Big Spring, Texas, they are already making new
buildings that have two new hotels. We will give you more information
about hotel / motel, RV park, dorm, and more information.

Good news, we will make forms and we will send the sport forms on
deaf network soon. We will have softball teams, bowling, racquetball
games, horseshoes games, horse basketball games and disc golf games.
Also Al Pace is making plans for kid’s activities.

We already picked the logos and theme. We will announce on July 8 to
11, 2010. Also we will work on the opening and closing ceremonies. We
will work on schedule, donations, and many things to do.

We already pick two different enterprises for Friday night and
Saturday night. We will announce soon.

REMIND REMIND you that Christine Kamal, Lisa Lopez-Santos, and Linda
Hobbs-Shipley will be at DEAF NATION EXPO this Saturday. See them
about SWCID Reunion 2010, DO NOT FORGET TO BRING MONEY, PICTURES AND
QUESTIONS.

Pictures, for yearbook that you want to bring instead of mail.

Questions, about SWCID Reunion 2010 that you want to ask to prepare
before you come to Big Spring, Texas on July 8 to 11, 2010.

DO NOT FORGET, if you want to buy SWCID Reunion 2010 yearbook, it was
cost $65.00 before May 31, 2009. There will raise up to $75.00 from
June 1, 900 to December 31, 2009. Remember the SWCID Reunion 2010 will
have a lot of history in past and present.

Start saving money $10.00 or $20.00 dollars until may 2009 then mail
us to pay us 65.00 dollars to “Reunion 2010” personal check or
money order.
