SafePlace: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survival Center is
recruiting for the following positions: (Austin, Texas)

Deaf Services Advocate/Educator

The Deaf Services Advocate/Educator serves as a resource
person/caseworker to clients who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or
Deaf/blind requesting services from SafePlace to help with their
immediate safety needs; conducting targeted outreach to raise
awareness about SafePlace services within the Deaf community, and
providing training/education on topics related domestic/sexual
violence against persons who are Deaf. This position is expected to
work collaboratively with the Deaf Services team to achieve program
goals. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Social Work, Counseling or
related field and 3-4 years relevant experience; fluency in American
Sign Language and life experience or knowledge of Deaf culture;
experience in planning and conducting trainings/presentations;
knowledge of the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence; knowledge
of social service, social welfare, mental health, and criminal justice
agencies as well as entities that specifically serve individuals who
are Deaf in the Austin area.
