Workshop Description:
Gina Gonzalez will present the workshop “Video Interpreting Philosophy: Standardizing
Best Practices and Procedures in Video Relay Service Interpreting” on Saturday, May 23,
2009 from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M with a one-hour lunch break. Lunch will be provided. Using
RID’s Standard Practice Paper in VRS as a guide, participants will engage in a discussion
regarding video interpreting practices. Participants will learn and discuss the governing
principles of the video interpreting philosophy that enable standardization in service
provision among video interpreters. Participants will discuss accountability for our
profession and consistency in service provision as video interpreters. Please feel free to
