ANNIE
“No more Hard Knock Life” for Annie! – at least not after the spunky
redheaded 11 year old is plucked from her dreary NYC orphanage to spend
Christmas with billionaire “Daddy Warbucks.”
Set during the Depression, Annie shows everyone from the Hooverville
Shanties to FDR and his “Brain Trust” that despite whatever tough times come
along, “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow!” Based on the popular comic strip
Little Orphan Annie, this heartwarming show has become an international
sensation! What a fitting way to spend Christmas!
Hurst, Texas, October 15, 2010 – Artisan Center Theater proudly presents
ANNIE at its 150 seat theater-in-the-round. The theater is located in the
old historic Belaire Plaza at 420 East Pipeline Road. The daytime box office
is located at 418 East Pipeline Road. The show runs Friday November 5
through Saturday December 23, 2010. Performances are at 7:30pm on Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with 3 pm matinees on Saturdays
10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18/2010. Reserved seating tickets are
$16.00 for adults, $14.00 for students and seniors, and $9.00 for children
12 and under. Monday through Thursday tickets are $12.00. The box office

On Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, the Artisan Center Theater will be treating more
than 120 children and family members from Starlight Children’s Foundation
Texas to an exclusive, “Starlight-only” performance of “Annie” at 3 p.m.
After the show, families will have their photos taken with the cast and
receive autographs. Among the Starlight children who will be present for the
show is the grandchild of the founders of the Artisan Theater, Rick and
DeeAnn Blair.

The Director:
Taffy Geisel has directed some 30 odd plays and ANNIE marks her eighth show
to direct at Artisan. She received the Star Telegram’s Best Actress award
for her portrayal of Miss Hannigan in CATS production of ANNIE, and has
performed several times at Artisan as Miss Myrtle, the Church Lady in the
SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN series. She is the author of many plays, several of
which have been produced and directed by her at Artisan. Next year she is
slated to direct PRINCE CASPIAN (which she adapted from the book of the same
name by C.S. Lewis) and ANNE OF GREEN GABLES – THE MUSICAL.
