LV Thornton passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2011. He was born in
Meadow Texas to Cleo & Clara Thornton. His mother died when LV was a
toddler, and he and his baby brother were raised by their eldest sister
Viola and her husband Harry. He graduated from the Texas School for the
Deaf in Austin Texas. He married and had three daughters, Debbie, Cathy and
Marcie. He spent his life working hard as an auto body repairman to take
care of his family. He has 7 grandchildren, Brian, Brandon, Brad, Meagan,
Rheanna, Brittani and Will. He has 6 great grandchildren, Trston, Dilan,
Kaiya, Landen, Corbin and Kieran. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Betty Thornton, his parents, his 5 sisters, 3 brothers. He is survivced by
his baby brother…Al and his wife Kaye.
He spent the summers of his youth working on a shrimp boat down on the Gulf
coast in Rockport. Shortly after he married, they moved to Victoria and
he became an auto body repairman. This is the line of work he stayed in
until he retired. He loved to fish and garden. He loved spending time with
his family outdoors! He was the world’s best at creating something from
nothing! He could put a smile on anyone’s face and he was ALWAYS
determined to do that! His daughter asked him one time “Daddy, why are you
always teasing the waitresses?” He responded, “Because I like to make
people smile and take that ugly frown off their faces!” Yep.. that was LV!
A great man who always did the best he knew how! He will be truly and
deeply missed!
