State Cuts Deaf Emergency Alerts

State Cuts Deaf Emergency Alerts

Do you receive email alerts for ASL messages in bad weather from DeafLink?
State cut as of last night! No more alerts! If a tornado comes and u used
to send to ur pager, no more! They did not tell us, just cut.

Watch WOAI news tonite (Feb 1, 2011) at 5, 6 or 6:30 to see story about how
state is cutting emergency services to Deaf. A reporter interviewed my wife
and me about state not providing video emergency alerts anymore. I used to
get email link to my computer and pager so I could know bad weather or
dangerous storm on way. Now, no more! Call your representative and ask to
put service back. SAVE DEAF LIVES!” Channel 4 or I will post link after on
their website so u can see.

Also contact Chief Nim Kidd, who cut services. His office phone number is
(512)424-2443 and his email is [email protected]
