FOR RELEASE JUNE 13, 2011
SMILES FOR MILES VISITS TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF
Austin, Texas – June 13, 2011 A team of deaf and CODA (Children of Deaf
Adults) cyclists riding 4,000 miles across America to inspire generous
hearts to support Miles for Smiles makes a stop at the Texas School for the
Deaf (TSD) today, 1:00-2:30 pm.
This amazing group of Operation Smile Team volunteers departed from Venice
Beach California May 18 headed for the East coast. The goal is to raise
awareness and $24,000 for 100 new smiles on the faces of children with cleft
lips and cleft palates.
As the group rides into Austin, the team blog reports “Twenty-three smiles
down, Seventy-seven more to go!”
Free and open to the public, TSD invites you to meet these inspiring
cyclists, learn about their trek across America and help put a smile on the
face of 100 children.
