Redefining Deaf – Houston
Redefining Deaf has now established a home and place to grow. On Sunday,
July 24 at 9:15, we embark on developing a strong community of Deaf, HH,
Late deaf, CODA, and Friends of Deaf at FM Houston. FMHouston continues to
examine and act upon the steps necessary to make it truly accessible to the
Deaf community.
Our new Deaf Room is located on the lower level in LL9b and can be easily
accessed by using the lower level elevator located just across from the
Sanctuary’s main lobby entrance. Everyone is welcome to become a member of
this new family of individuals who wish to share with others their thoughts
and feelings about topics that provide for personal learning.
Redefining Deaf meets from 9:15-9:40 with coffee and continental breakfast
for a morning social time. This is followed by group discussion on topics
related and relevant to the series presented by Dr. Wende each Sunday in the
11:00am service. This service is ASL interpreted, traditional in nature, to
include singing.
If you can’t join us for the discussion and worship, no worries. Redefining
Deaf continues with a social time at the lunch table each Sunday at a local
eatery. It’s a great time to share with others.
FMHouston is located at 1320 Main Street at Clay Street in downtown Houston.
Free parking is located directly across the street in a church-owned parking
lot with private cart pick up to bring you right to the front door.
So, what’s keeping you from checking out the Redefining Deaf experience?
Come be a part of what will be a wonderful Deaf directed, Deaf designed,Deaf
organized group. Let’s see you Sunday.
