In Memory of Edna Lanita Ugarte
March 13, 1942 – August 26, 2011
Edna Lanita, an 85 year resident of Dallas peacefully passed away in Sherman
at age 90 on August 26, 2011. She is now in a wonderful place with her
husband, parents, brother, and friends who went before her.
Lanita attended the Texas School for the Deaf as a child. As an adult, in
addition to being a devoted daughter, wife, mother, “Granny”, and friend to
many, she was a long time member of the Dallas Association of the Deaf and
served as term as President of the Women’s Auxukuart Fraternity. Lanita was
loving, caring woman with a bign warm smile for everyone at all times.
Lanita was preceded in death by husband E.R. Ugarte, parents of Scott and
Edna Ferrell, and brother Scott, Jr. She is survuved by son Rick Ugarte and
wife Gail, daughter Sonia and husband Lew Ganter, 6 grandchildren, 10 great
grandchildren, and sister-inlaw Anita Della.
A family memorial service was celebrated Lanita’s life at Grove Hill Funeral
Home in Dallas on Saturday morning, September 3, 2011.
Lanita will be missed by all that knew her.
