RANGERS READY FOR THE BIG DAY

FANS AWAIT TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF’S HOMECOMING CELEBRATION

STUDENTS PUMPED FOR ANNUAL PEP RALLY TODAY!

Austin, Texas – September 23, 2011 Homecoming at the Texas School for the
Deaf (TSD) is still the most cherished tradition celebrated at the 154
year-old school, home of the TSD Rangers.

Today’s Blue and White pep rally at 1:00 p.m. caps off Spirit Week at TSD
– when the winning high school class takes ownership of the coveted Spirit
Award for the 2011-12 school year – and officially kicks-off TSD’s pre-game
festivities that will bring 2,000+ fans to the Austin campus at 1102 South
Congress Avenue.

Rooted in long-standing tradition, each year students, families, friends and
alumni converge on TSD’s campus mall to celebrate together at the Homecoming
Festival prior to the game. Fans will enjoy almost 70 booths offering
refreshments, cool merchandise, student fundraisers, games and more.

Competition starts early in the day Saturday with TSD Junior Varsity and
Varsity Volleyball games at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. against San Marcos
Academy.

Homecoming pre-game at 5:00 p.m. will honor past homecoming royalty and
former alumni, including returning players from TSD’s 1941 first national
football championship team.

The 5:30 p.m. kick-off matches TSD against John Paul II Catholic High
School, where TSD’s 2011 Homecoming court will be crowned during half time.

The Texas School for the Deaf is the oldest continuously operating public
school in Texas. Educating deaf and hard of hearing students since 1856, the
campus also provides outreach and educational resources for students, their
families and professionals in the field throughout Texas. With educational
excellence and a strong belief in a culture and community at TSD, students
form a unique identity based on their individual strengths and talents. TSD
is an environment where students learn, grow, and belong. For more
