Lillian serves as the Communication & Outreach Coordinator for the National Interpreter Education Center. She is a skilled facilitator and serves as project manager for the NCIEC DSAT Curriculum Second Edition and Deaf-Blind adaptation projects. She is active across all NCIEC national initiatives. Lillian is an interpreter educator and master trainer for the NCIEC Deaf Self-Advocacy initiative. In her work prior to joining the NCIEC, Lillian spent ten years as coordinator of interpreting services in Massachusetts and Connecticut, providing supervision, outreach, mentorship, and education to interpreters. However, Lillian greatest achievements are her two young daughters.

Workshop Description: Once of the most challenging and exciting projects undertaken by the National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers has been the development of a specialized curriculum devoted to Deaf Self-Advocacy. This is the first time in the thirty-year history of the federal Training of Interpreters Program that the Rehabilitation services Administration has designated consumer education a priority. The curriculum was developed and pilot tested between 2005-2010. Excellent feedback from the pilot, master trainers and consumer participants informed the content and format of the new Second Edition. Please join the National Interpreter Education Center and the Regional Interpreter Education Center at Northeastern University for this webinar, an overview of the new DSAT Curriculum.
