January 24, 2013
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) – A 37-year old Corpus Christi man who is hearing impaired is now in the City Detention Center after investigators say he made terroristic threats.
His arrest came after a standoff with police Wednesday on Holmes, near McArdle.
Officers were called out to a home on Holmes just before 5 p.m. Wednesday to investigate an assault. Investigators said they were talking with 37-year old William Bryant outside before he ran inside to grab a gun.
A Tazer was used to stop the hearing impaired man.
After being handcuffed, Bryant slammed his head on the police cruiser. That was when officers wrestled him to the ground, where two of them sustained minor injuries.
The Corpus Christi Police Department said those officers are expected to make a full recovery.
