Focus on Interpreting workshop

A workshop to discuss and practice making message-equivalent interpretations.

Date: March 16, 2013 Time: 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

Join Mike in some text analysis activities where we will listen for meaning and intent in order to produce a true interpretation that is culturally and semantically appropriate. We will discuss linguistic meaning in words and phrases in ASL and English and examine how various constructions satisfy the interpretation goals and strategies to increase message equivalency.

Don’t miss this enlightening forum.

This workshop will be presented for beginning singers, ASL/ITP students and pre-certified “becoming” interpreters (certified interpreters also welcome). No BEI or RID CEUs will be offered but ITP activity forms will be honored.
