This workshop focuses on the role and functions of Certified Deaf Interpreters when working with consumers and interpreters who are Deaf. The functions discussed include translation of text, mirror/monologue, contact signing to ASL, ASL to contact signing, and English to ASL.
About the presenter: Ann Horn, who is Deaf, is the Direct Services Program Specialist at the DARS Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. She has 22 years of experience. Ms. Horn’s varied projects include providing interpreting services; serving as contract manager for the Senior Citizens Program; providing continuing education and an array of workshops; managing the Camp SIGN program; and presenting sensitivity training, Deaf Self-Advocacy Training, and new employee orientation.
