Tyler Junior College Interpreter Training Program Presents “Code of Professional Conduct” Conversations in Situational Ethics” By Mike McMillion, CI & CT; NIC Master; BEI IV; Court

Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 9:00 A.M.-3:30 P.M. (Half-hour Lunch on your own/brown bag) Pending BEI .6 Ethics CEUs & RID .6 CEUs. It will be until 3:30 not 3:00 p.m. in order to have a 30 minute lunch without it being a working lunch and get .6 Ethics CEU’s. 

TSID is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for .6 CEUs at the “Little or No Knowledge” Level. Target Audience: Sign Language Interpreters, ITP/IPP Students, Interpreting Consumers Workshop/Course Description: A general review of the CPC (and TX CPC for Court Interpreters) and how to make reasonable decisions in situations that call for “considerations” in role and task of the interpreter and how those decisions effect stakeholders. Introduction to ethical principles (i.e. Kohlberg’s stages) and conversations that draw out self-reflection and how to apply oneself to the needs (i.e. Demand-Control Schema) at any given moment.
