Service Dogs, Inc. rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to assist their partners in public and at home. Dogs are free of charge to qualified clients who also complete training and participation requirements.

Visit our website for more information or to download an application.

Service Dogs, Inc. trains two types of assistance dogs, one being hearing dogs who alert hearing impaired partners to sounds by touching them and then leading them to the sound. We train dogs to alert to sounds as varied as a door knock or a baby’s cry. We train for full-public access which allows our dogs to accompany their partners in any public setting and the dogs (all rescued from shelters) are free to recipients.

We are a non-profit and usually graduate 10 or so hearing dogs each year. It occurs to me you might also be interested in an article about hearing dogs in general. We were founded in 1988 and there are several organizations around the country that train these great dogs. We focus just on Texas.
