Heath studied at the University of New Mexico and also received a MA from Western Oregon University. His passion is in the arts: storytelling, performance, acting, ASL poetry, and drawing. He can now be found teaching ASL courses at McLennan Community College.

Play With the Hands: Classifiers

Remember playing with toys? Let’s play with classifiers! This workshop will focus on:

* Identifying several levels of classifiers from video, pictures, and live presentation
* Demonstrating the use of each classifier in a sentence
* Improving skills in describing objects

Text to ASL

Moby Dick in ASL!? Sherlock Holmes? Learn to analyze a story and translate effectively.

* Analyze English phrases and translate to ASL from several books and a live presentation
* Demonstrate English phrases and ASL phrases
* Tell a story using sign
