Arrive in Cape Town, transfer to the hotel, hotel check-in, Welcome Reception
June 2 CAPE TOWN
Full-day tour starts by coach with a drive along the Atlantic Seaboard, one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world, visit Cape of Good Hope with its majestic Cape Point Lighthouse, continue to Boulders Beach with an exciting close-up encounter with African penguins, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, scenic drive through the wine regions outside Cape Town, stop for a private wine tasting and cellar tour, the wine estate is owned by South African golf champion and award-winning winemaker Ernie Els (B, L)
June 3 CAPE TOWN
Morning visit and guided tour of Robben Island prison where former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years, lunch at a local restaurant, drive through Cape Town’s diverse neighborhood, cable car journey up to famous Table Mountain with a magnificent view from its summit (weather permitting) (B, L)
June 4 CAPE TOWN – KASANE (BOTSWANA) – ZAMBEZI QUEEN – EMBARKATION
Flight via Johannesburg to Kasane, transfer to the Chobe River, private safari boat transfer to the Zambezi Queen, sunset cruise down the Chobe River, Welcome Cocktail and Dinner (B, L, D)
June 5 ZAMBEZI QUEEN
Full-say safari in Chobe National Park, home of the densest population of wildlife in Africa, private picnic in the park, safari continues, return to the Zambezi Queen for High Tea, evening presentation about the history of the Chobe area (B, L, D)
June 6 ZAMBEZI QUEEN
Visit Kasenu village to experience local culture first-hand, explore smaller waterways in a mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe, return to the ship for lunch, depart for a river safari, in the evening an African Boma Dinner ashore with various flavorful local specialties, at night the Cruise Manager will show the African Sky pointing out southern hemisphere constellations (B, L, D)
June 7 ZAMBEZI QUEEN
Join a private boat safari OR a bird watching excursion, safari lunch cruise while observing hippos and elephants, tonight the Cruise Manager willhost a Farewell Dinner on board (B, L, D)
June 8 ZAMBEZI QUEEN – DISEMBARKATION – VICTORIA FALLS (ZIMBABWE)
Morning transfer to the legendary Victoria Falls, hotel check-in, time to explore the city, special dinner this evening (B, D)
June 9 VICTORIA FALLS
Guided tour to the Victoria Falls National Park, in the evening embark a festive Sunset Cruise along the Zambezi River, relax on board observing a variety of wildlife while enjoying a delicious mix of tapas with drinks (B)
June 10 VICTORIA FALLS – JOHANNESBURG (SOUTH AFRICA)
Transfer to the airport, flight to Johannesburg, transfer to the hotel, hotel check-in, gather with a local expert for an informative discussion about day to day life of the South African busmen in the Kalahari Desert, special dinner follows (B, D)
June 11 JOHANNESBURG
Johannesburg city tour by coach including Soweto, walk the footsteps of Nelson Mandela and explore the cities colorful neighborhoods, visit the Apartheid Museum, enjoy a delicious “township” lunch, visit the Dominican School for the Deaf (B, L)
June 12 JOHANNESBURG – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK AREA
Transfer to the airport, flight to the Kruger National Park Area, transfer to the safari lodge, lunch, late afternoon/early evening safari searching for the “Big Five” and other native wildlife (B, L, D)
June 13 KRUGER NATIONAL PARK AREA
Early morning safari in an open-air vehicle, return to the lodge, afternoon safari deep into the bush to encounter South Africa’s top predators: cheetahs, hyenas and lions, return to the lodge for dinner (B, L, D)
June 14 KRUGER NATIONAL PARK AREA
Morning safari, return to the lodge, afternoon safari, dinner (B, L, D)
