Interfaith Symposium on Including Deaf and People with Disabilities 2/25/20 – DFW
Create a culture of belonging in your faith community! On February 25, 2020, faith leaders, parents and educators of all faiths are invited to a special gathering of how to include people with disabilities and those who are Deaf in their faith community. Best practices and resources will be shared at this 9am to 4pm event. Keynote speaker is Rev. Bill Gaventa, director of the Summer Institute of Disability and Theology. Panelists include Rev. Tom Hudspeth, pastor of the Deaf, Lovers Lane UMC, Dallas, Texas; pastors from the Special Needs Ministry at Highland Park UMC; and leaders from Jewish and Muslim communities.
Cost is $65 (includes kosher lunch).
Deadline to register is Monday, February 24, 2020.
