FEMA Disability Stakeholders Call – July 23, 2020
FEMA’s Office of Disability Integration and Coordination (ODIC) invites you to join our Disability Stakeholders call on Thursday, July 23, 2020, from 1 -2 p.m. Eastern Time.
July marks the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with a Celebrate. Learn. Share. initiative. This sweeping civil rights legislation expanded on the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities by federally funded entities. The ADA goes further, prohibiting discrimination against people with disabilities in employment (Title I), state and local government services (Title II), public accommodations (Title III) and telecommunications (Title IV). Its provisions cover more than 56 million Americans, or the approximately 20 percent of the U.S. population who have a disability.

On the call, we look forward to celebrating the 30th anniversary of the ADA and sharing updates about the work ODIC is doing across the nation.
If you have questions you would like us to address, please send an email by Friday, July 17 to [email protected].
Sincerely,
Linda Mastandrea
