Presenter’s Bio:
Brandon Lee “BL” Williams is a fifth-generation Black Deaf man who grew up in Texas and Arkansas. He graduated from Gallaudet University with a degree in Social Work. He is currently a Program Coordinator, specializing in diversity and wellness, at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) under the NTID Student Life Team. He also gives presentations and training in diversity and social justice within the Deaf community. He is passionate about working with Deaf Youth of Color and engaging in spiritual discussions and transformation. He is also the proud father of Nadìn Bell Ruiz-Williams.

Webinar Description:

White Privilege: Processes of Self-Determination for Social Change Born into a Black Deaf family, Brandon “BL” Williams will discuss how systems of racism, sexism, classism, and audism has impacted multiple generations of his family and how that has impacted his views of society. We will explore the intersectional reality of our communities and how we can do better to embrace multiple experiences by resisting the oppression we experience and perpetuate.
