Hi Oscar, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I am from Dallas, Texas, and born and raised in oak cliff, Texas. I am deaf and working as travel hairstylist for 10 years experience and I went to I.T.S Academy beauty college of hair in Irving, Texas, and graduated in 2016. I am manager as backstage for hairdresser at LADF (Los Angeles DEAF Fashion) in Los Angeles, California for 4 years. Also, I am currently actor and worked position as hairstylist on Click Click and Crop Tv Show in Dallas- Fort Worth, Texas for 3 years. You can see that hair is my passion! I been particularly acting in couples’ films. I am creator of body positivity for since 2020 to help people out to boost their confidence and accept as who they are. I also made a film. it is called “body positivity film” by Oscar Roman Alonso on YouTube. I am Body Positivity Influencer on social media.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been taken care of three sisters after our mom passed away in 2014. It’s was difficult for me to take care of three sisters and financially and bill’s issues and we been struggles for 2 years and half. It’s too personal to talk about it but all I can say is you have to faith in yourself for kids’ sakes. Only God knows. I work hard for kids and myself to have a stable life. / For being a hairstylist is challenged because hearing people don’t want to have a deal with me and think I can’t do hair just because I am deaf. I prove them wrong and I can do hair and I can do anything especially can’t hear. I have devices thing to use for communication with hearing people.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Stephanie Victoria and Bertha Velazquez for being my big advocate and growing my business from beginning. Brittany Hawthorne for being my mentor/American Sign Language director.
Daymond Junior for being a choreography/advocate.
Jose Contreras for being a photographer/film.
My family, best friend, close friends, and heavenly mother are my big supporters.
My clients and fans is my huge supporters!
