Gallaudet University: Participants Needed For Research Study – Deaf, H&H and DB

Hello,

To view this message in ASL, please click here.

My name is Emily Bramande. I am a PhD student at Gallaudet University recruiting participants for my dissertation. My topic is related to experiences in romantic relationships and piloting American Sign Language (ASL) translations of two measures of intimate partner violence to support Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind (DHHDB) survivors. To participate in the study, you must: (1) be 18 years or older, (2) be a current resident of the United States, (3) identify as DHHDB, (4) use ASL as your preferred language, (5) have been in a romantic relationship in the past year, (6) have direct access to screen-based ASL videos, and (7) have access to technology no smaller than a tablet or iPad to complete the survey.

The online survey takes about 45-60 minutes to complete, and participants will have the option to direct a $10 donation to one of three DHHDB domestic violence organizations upon completion. My recruitment flyer and ASL video are attached here. I would greatly appreciate it if you would disseminate these to your agency, research listservs, and/or social media. The link for the survey is https://www.bit.ly/ebphdresearch.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Thank you for your time!

Take care,
Emily Bramande, M.A.
