The Sign Language Interpreting Program at Tarrant County College has an opening for a Full-Time ASL/English Interpreting Instructor to join our continually growing and successful program. TCC is proud to be nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education (CCIE), and located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, Texas on the beautiful Trinity River campus.
We are seeking applicants with a zeal to develop the necessary ASL/English linguistic skills, interpreting techniques, and soft skills to work in a variety of educational, business, and industry settings, all within a secure context of respect for the Deaf Community.
Candidates must hold a current BEI Advanced Level Certificate or higher, BEI Intermediary Certificate, or RID/NIC certification, hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, and have a minimum of three years’ experience in the field of interpreting.
This is an in-person instructional position.

Instructional Assistant – ASL Interpreting Lab – Tarrant County College – Part Time
Tarrant County College – Trinity River Campus is hiring an Instructional Assistant for our ASL Interpreting Lab. This is an in-person position in beautiful downtown Fort Worth. This position assists with tutoring all levels of students in the Sign Language Interpreting Program, from ASL 1, 2, 3, 4, and all levels of Interpreting classes.
This position is part time, working 19.5 hours per week, on a flexible schedule which may include evenings and occasional Saturdays, to ensure all students have access to the required tutoring for their classes.
We are looking for an engaging person, who enjoys helping students learn by providing interactive tutoring activities, and one on one language mentoring. This position also supports the instructors in the program and participates in program wide events. Required qualifications include: an associate’s degree, or 60 college hours from a regionally accredited college or university and two (2) years work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and related work experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience using native or near-native American Sign Language, Microsoft Office, and other online technology to maintain tutoring schedules and communication with colleagues.
