The Greater Houston Interpreters for the Deaf is presenting “OIC – Operating
as an Independent Contractor” on Saturday May 22, 2010 from 9am – noon. “This
workshop will teach you the rights and responsibilities of the independent
contract interpreter. Participants will learn about establishing rates,
policies, customer service and more.”

Scripts – Ever wished you had a “Book of Scripts” for those sticky
interpreting situations? This workshop will guide you in developing a “book
of scripts” for practicing diplomacy and excellent customer service in
general business practice as well as sticky and surprising ethical
situations.

Presented by Cindy Barnett, these workshops carry a combined total of 0.7
