Travis County Services for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing and Advocacy,
Inc. will be presenting an informational seminar focusing on
employment discrimination and coping skills for hard of hearing
persons.

Presenter: Brian East, Senior Attorney, Advocacy, Inc.

Brian East graduated from UT Law School in 1977. He worked at Legal
Aid for two years, and in private practice for 14 years, before
joining Advocacy, Inc., the Texas “protection and advocacy”
organization. Brian has handled a number of disability discrimination
and disability rights cases in state and federal court, and has
written and lectured extensively on these issues. Brian is currently a
Board Member of both the Texas Employment Lawyers Association and the
National Employment Lawyers Association, and has served on the Legal
Committee of the National Disability Rights Network. He is also the
co-author and editor of the chapter on “Workers with Disabilities” in
the Employee & Union Member Guide to Labor Law (Thompson/West 2007).
