The Lillian Beard Deaf Connection Center

Greetings!

You may have heard or received mail from Woodhaven concerning The
Lillian Beard Deaf Connection Center. We are very excited and want you
to be aware and involved as our plans continue to develop. God has
blessed us with tremendous facilities. We want to share this blessing
and gift with the deaf community of Houston. Therefore, we are
converting our entire east wing in a multi-service center for the deaf
commnity.

These services will include:

1. Life Management Skills (X) Meets every Tues. and Thurs 10 A.M.
till 3:00 P.M.

2. Addiction Recovery and Support (X) Meets every Wednesday @ 6:30
P.M.

3. Ex-Offender Service. s (Probation Office in the Church)

4. Food and Clothing Bank (X) Open Soon!

5. Sign Language Training (X) Every Monday 10 A. M. Till 12 noon

6. Self Help Center

7. Coffee House/Deaf Theater

Note: (X) Indicates servide already started.

Special Events:

1. For awareness and building unity in the community, Woodhaven is
hosting a “Deaf Community Services Day” on Saturday September 27, 2008
from 10:00 A.M. till 4:00 P.M.

We are inviting all agencies and organizations who serve the deaf
Community to set up their tables and booths at Woodhaven. The purpose
is to network, share, promote, enlist, and fellowship. We will have
food available, host several panel discussions, provide skits/story
telling, and deaf music.

2. Many of you are aware that Miss Lillian Beard will turn 100 years
old on October 18th. Woodhaven will help celebrate her birthday by
hosting a huge Fall Festival on Saturday, October 18th. There will be
games, booths, food, great door prizes, entertainment, and much more.
Then on Sunday, October 19th

Woodhaven will have a great birthday party for Miss Lillian, cover
dish meal, cake cutting, great worship, and dedication of The Lillian
Beard Deaf Connection Center.
