Crime Prevention, Safety Fair & Community Forum
for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community
Date: Saturday, November 13, 2010
Time: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Where:
Fort Worth Police and Fire Academy
1000 Calvert Street
Fort Worth, Texas 76107
Sign Language Interpreters and CART will be provided. The facility is
wheel-chair accessible.
This is an opportunity for the deaf and hard of hearing community to be
introduced to the Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments, to learn about
community programs and to meet and speak with police officers and fire
personnel first-hand. See SWAT and K-9 demonstrations. Learn about
Explorers and more.
Participate in the first Community Forum specifically for citizens who are
deaf, hard of hearing, late-deafened and deaf-blind. Share your questions,
concerns, experiences and suggestions to help in developing training for
Fort Worth Police Officers and a 12-week Community Training Program for the
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community. Fort Worth Chief of Police Jeffrey
Halstead will be on hand and will participate in the Community Forum.
You don’t have to live in Fort Worth to attend, but keep in mind that all
information will be about the Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments.
However, you may learn information which can be helpful to your city’s
police and fire departments. Join me for a fun educational event for all
and a new introduction to Fort Worth Police and Fire. Save the date! More
information will follow as the event nears.
If you have questions, please contact Sergeant Laura G. Klein at
817-871-6504 or email at [email protected]. I look forward to
visiting with you on November 13, 2010
