Regional Representative – Region 6 – Dallas, TX

Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults

The Regional Representative supports the mission and programs of Helen
Keller National Center in the following states: TX, OK, LA, AR, & NM.

Full time position – serve as an advocate for deaf-blind youths and adults
and their families to maximize independence and opportunities in their home
community; identify deaf-blind youth and adults within assigned states;
assist with planning, implementing, securing and/or coordinating, and
evaluating appropriate services. (These services may include, but are not
limited to, evaluation and training at Helen Keller National Center and back
home follow-up.) Offer/provide technical assistance, program consultation,
and training to various agencies, organizations and associations. Maintain
and report monthly statistics, identify and report new clients. Position
requires significant travel within the assigned states, to NY and
occasional conferences which may be located throughout the United States.

EDUCATION: Requires Master’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling
or related field.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years full-time work experience with
deaf-blind youths or adults, or individuals with significant disabilities.
Fluency in ASL and signed English systems. Strong communication, counseling
and advocacy skills. Strong computer skills required including MS Word,
Outlook and Filemaker Pro.
