Wilderness Adventure Camp
Campers and Staff
Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is offering thrilling Wilderness Adventure camps for deaf and hard-of-hearing youth ages 8 to 16 with opportunities to build self-identity, confidence and social skills through outdoor education, backpacking, arts, drama, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, swimming, climbing, challenge course, and leadership development activities. Older teens (ages 17-19) serve as Counselors in Training and as role models for younger participants.
Campers
The camp accepts 8 boys and 8 girls between the ages of 8 and 10; and 12 boys and 12 girls between the ages of 11 and 16 for a total of 32 campers for each life-changing session. The camp will also accept hearing siblings and CODAs as campers this year. Our counselors are often camp alumni and/or attending RIT or Gallaudet University. Campers who wish to stay for multiple weeks can add weekends to create a summer full of fun. Registration forms are available at http://www.aspencamp.org for both CITs and Campers.
