NOTICE! The presentation on Advocacy & Technology for Deaf or Hard of Hearing Children on May 19 is mainly for families with deaf/hard of hearing children attending schools in the San Antonio area.

Transportation at this time is provided only to families who live in the SAISD school district.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend with how many adults and children you will bring with you.

Please ask about transportation no later than Friday, May 11! Childcare
will be provided. Students who are interested are welcome to
participate! Spanish translation and sign language interpreters will be
provided. Please make other accommodation requests no later than
Friday, May 11, 2012.

About the Presenters:

Margarita Vasquez serves as the Deafness Resource Specialist for the
Upper South Texas Region. She is contracted under the Office for Deaf
and Hard of Hearing Services/DARS to serve as the liason/advocate for
those that are Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing in obtaining Communication
Access. She has her AAS in Deaf Support and is a certified BEI
interpreter.

Sara Filippone is the Hearing Loss Resource Specialist for the Upper
South Texas Region. She is contracted under the Office for Deaf and
Hard of Hearing Services/DARS. Sara Filippone is certified by The
American Academy of Hearing Loss Support Specialist. She serves both
the Deaf and Hard Funded by Service program of: of Hearing in helping
to identify solutions based on individual needs and their families to
help improve the quality of their lives by providing essential training
and information on technology.
