Workshop: “Sexual Harassment? No Interpreter? #DO-DO YOU?” – Austin

Sexual Harassment? No Interpreter? #DO-DO YOU? – Austin

Co-conducted by Safe Place –Deaf Services and CAAG of Austin

As a Deaf or Hard of Hearing individual in a work environment, have you
ever experienced any of the following:

1) Feeling unsure if someone else’s behavior is a sexual harassment?
2) Feeling “trapped” because of communication barriers?
3) Discrimination because your request for a qualified interpreter or
another accommodation to ensure effective communication to discuss a
sexual harassment situation was denied?
4) Not knowing your civil rights?

If you answered “Yes” to at least one of the above questions, come
learn how to self-advocate as a Deaf or Hard of Hearing individual.
There are ways you can handle sexual harassment or disability
discrimination by self-advocating for your rights or get advocacy
services. When this does not work, there are specific guidelines to
follow in filing complaints with various agencies. Come learn how to
improve your life and the life of others in the most positive ways
possible. The training is scheduled and located at:
