“His Gift”, a combined effort of the American Sign Language and Vocal Choirs of First Baptist Church

The Christmas season is in full swing. There are presents to be bought and wrapped, cards to be addressed, and cookies to bake. There are parties to attend and meals to prepare. For one Sunday evening, First Baptist Church of Mansfield wants you to set aside the hustle and bustle and enjoy the show.

Sunday, December 9th at 6PM; 5:30PM pre-performance entertainment in the foyers

The Worship Ministries of First Baptist Church will be presenting “His Gift”, a unique presentation that utilizes the Adult Worship Choir, the Sign Choir, Worship Band, Kidz Praize, and a team of talented actors.

“His Gift” is a unique production. It is a story told twice; side by side, in two languages at the same time. It is one family’s story of reflection and healing at Christmastime displayed as a mirror image throughout the program. One side of the stage will present in English while the other simultaneously presents in American Sign Language. The Worship Choir and band will support the drama with classic carols and contemporary songs, as well as a few surprises!

Peggy Cobb, the writer, is excited for the audience, deaf and hearing, to “connect to the story of healing after pain and enjoy some familiar music as well as some new inspiring songs.”

So, as you are filling up your calendar with Christmas activities, don’t forget to set aside time December 9th to experience “His Gift”. The presentation begins at 6PM at First Baptist Church of Mansfield, 1800 East Broad Street. Arrive early and enjoy pre-performance entertainment presented by Kidz Praize and the Handbell Choir.
