Knowing and Understanding State Resources
Course Description
Many specialized resources throughout the state can be beneficial for those served, if made aware and understood. Most of these resources are found within the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). Within DARS, there is the Division for Blind Services (DBS), which has an office for Deafblind Services; there is the Division for Rehabilitation Services (DRS) and there is the Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS). Additionally, there are specialized services through DARS’ Division for Early Childhood Intervention (ECI).
Knowing and Understanding State Resources:
Educational Objectives
Participants will become more knowledgeable of specialized services through DSHS, DARS/DBS, DARS/DRS, DARS/ECI, and DARS/DHHS, including those for individuals who are pre-certified and those interpreters who are certified.
