Introduction to Interpreting music into ASL while maintaining source message meaning.

11:00 AM to 1:00 PM "Children's Storytelling" CEUS $20 – Keith Wann

By looking past the words of a story to the meaning, an interpreter can ensure the same experience for Deaf audiences. Analyze and interpret a familiar children's story with feedback and demonstration. 

1:00 PM to 2:00 PM – Lunch

2:00 PM to 4:00 PM "ASL Music Storytelling Performance" CEUS $20 – Keith Wann

Interpreters must also include the emtion, social & cultural context of the song, the songwriter and singer's intention, as well as the genre and type of song, along with body language, facial grammar, and sign production into the finished product.

4:00 PM to 5:00 PM "Identify Theft Protection" CEUS & Free – Keith Wann

Define and explain the concept of Identify theft. Discuss ways to protect themselves.
