Interpreter Wanted: Visually Impaired & Deaf Triathlete at Texas Iron Man Competition – Houston

Interpreter Wanted Visually Impaired & Deaf Triathlete at Texas Iron Man Competition – Houston

On May 17, 2014, Andy Granada, a visually impaired and deaf triathlete, will compete in the Texas Iron Man Competition in The Woodlands, Texas. Andy is from California and will be traveling to Texas for the Iron Man event.

Andy is trying to become the first deaf and blind male athlete to finish an Ironman.

The Ironman event includes: swimming, biking and running. My son Jarrett Hubert will host Andy and be his guide during the competition.

Although the Ironman Organization is providing assistance to Andy, there is an unanswered need for sign interpreters. We are looking for skilled volunteers to help Andy. The need is for at least two sign language interpreters who can assist Andy during the race weekend.

Andy is a very interesting athlete. Check out his YouTube video:

We very much appreciate the information, reference or other support that you provide.
