Are you Deaf and want your CHL? Meet All Can Carry!
Next Class: August 30, 2014 @ Bass Pro Shops in Grapevine. 7am – 4pm
Hello All!
I’m Lara Wagner, a certified firearms instructor as well as a nationally and state certified interpreter.
I combined these two skillsets and established a company named All Can Carry because, I believe everyone, disabled or not, should be able to own a firearm. Unless prohibited by law, it is a constitutional right to bear arms to protect yourself. You also have the right in Texas to carry a firearm where permitted.
I teach a National Rifle Association Basic Pistol Shooting Class and also teach the Texas Concealed Handgun License (CHL) Class both VOICE OFF and ENTIRELY IN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE.
We cater to all experience levels. We have a class for you whether you have never shot a gun or you are an experienced shooter!
For beginner/novice shooters, the Basic Pistol Shooting Course covers the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course is at least eight hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, two handed standing positions, cleaning the pistol, and continued opportunities for skill development.
Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet. You will take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and receive course completion certificate. This class is a precursor and prep course for those wanting a CHL license who are not sure if they are proficient enough to pass the CHL shooting test.
For experienced shooters or students that have already taken the NRA class, the Texas CHL class requires successful completion of a minimum 4 to 6 hour certification course outlined by the Texas Department of Public Safety and covering non-violent dispute resolution; Texas laws pertaining to use of force as a defense, gun safety, and gun storage and licensing requirements; and laws covering concealed handgun license holders. To obtain a concealed handgun license in Texas you must qualify with a handgun in accordance with the DPS course of fire and pass a 50 question exam. You must then apply to the state, pay the current fees, and undergo a complete background check for the state to issue a license.
Classes are held at the Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine, Texas.
*Note: If you live in Texas but are distant from the Dallas/Fort Worth area and would like a class hosted for a group (10 or more), contact me and we can discuss getting a class together in your area.
