Cub Scouts Group Needs Help Communicating with Deaf Parents

I am the leader of a Cub Scout pack in Kyle, Texas. (Near San Marcos, Texas) This year we have a new boy whose parents are deaf. Cub Scouts are very much a family activity and I would like to be able to be sure that this Scout’s parent are included.

Unfortunately, our pack cannot afford to hire an interpreter. I am looking for ideas and/or resources that may be able to help us out. Are there any groups that provide interpreting services as a community service? Are there other options that could be considered? Any help you can provide, even if is just to point us in the right direction will be appreciated.

Thank You
