Darrell and Joy Queen
Darrell Edward Queen, 86, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at North Fort Worth Baptist Church, 5801 N. I35W, Fort Worth, 76131. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday Williams & Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth. Darrell was born on Dec. 13, 1929, in Shreveport, La., to Edward and Marie Queen.
After serving in the Korean War, he attended UNT, where he met the love of his life, Joy Morgan. Married in 1955, they have walked hand in hand for the last 60 years. They have raised three wonderful children. Darrell worked as an oil exploration drafting supervisor for the same company for 33 years. He was a devoted husband, father, PawPaw, Christian, deacon, interpreter for the deaf, handyman and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, David.
Survivors: Loving wife, Joy Morgan Queen; children, Gary and wife, Kaye, Gayle and husband, Ronnie, Jerri and Beverly; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth; sister, Vonceil; and many more.
