Amarillo College graduates its fourth completely deaf student from their truck driving academy.
James Hanson received his certificate today.
He and his case worker searched through several states for a program that helps deaf students.
Disability services at AC has a graduate who’s completed a two year course in sign language and comes from a truck driving family.
AC officials say their interpreter plays a key role in helping their students succeed.
AC officials say they get more calls and questions about their program since their first graduate in 2014.
They anticipate to have even more students in their program in the future.
