CODA Movie – Violet Crown Austin 8/20/2021

I am reaching out to let you know about a film we will be opening on Friday, August 20, 2021 Violet Crown Austin. The film is titled CODA and tells the story of Ruby, a Child of Deaf Adults who finds herself torn between pursuing her love of music and her fear of abandoning her parents when the family fishing business is threatened.

Address: 434 W. 2nd Street, Austin, Texas

The film premiered at Sundance in January and found itself making history by being honored with all four of the top awards in the U.S. Dramatic Competition category including the U.S. Grand Jury Prize, the Directing Award, the Audience Award and a Special Jury Award for Ensemble Cast. This was in addition to the film being purchased by Apple for a record-setting 25 million.

This is a very limited theatrical release with very few cinemas having the opportunity to present the film. All showtimes will be presented with Open Captions burned into the print in what is thought to be a first for a feature film release in theaters. This is one of my favorite films of the year and I am so happy the distributor invited Violet Crown to be part of the run.

Below is a link to the film’s page on our website where more information can be found and where tickets can be reserved.

If there is any more information you might need or if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
