This workshop series highlights issues related to mental health topics seen in non-mental health interpreting settings.

Sign up for one workshop, or all three! This workshop will be provided in ASL ONLY (no spoken English). Specific accommodation requests can be directed to [email protected].

Topics:

Mental Health Where, Part 1: Mental Health in Educational Settings
Mental Health Where, Part 2: Mental Health in VRI/VRS Interpreting
Mental Health Where, Part 3: Mental Health in Community Settings

  • Participants will recognize mental health content in non-mental health care settings
  • Participants will identify their own levels of readiness for various interpreting assignments and practice identifying areas of need (team support, additional training, etc.)
  • Participants will discuss and analyze various interpreting scenarios and will understand the impact of mental health in these settings
