Obituary: Judy Eileen Holder

Walter Holder’s wife Judy Holder passed away unexpectedly Monday morning. Funeral this Friday March 17, 2023 at West, Texas.

Judy Eileen Holder, age 75, of Lacy Lakeview, passed away Monday morning, March 13, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Clark Cemetery near Weatherford. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Judy was born December 21, 1947 in Ft. Worth, the daughter of George Hargiss and Dorothy (Kearby) Allen. She was a 1967 graduate of the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin. On October 8, 1966 she was united in marriage to Walter Holder Sr. in Ft. Worth. Judy worked for Plantation Foods, later becoming Cargill Foods, in Waco for 32 years, and she was also a homemaker. Judy enjoyed working word searches and word puzzles, baking and eating sweets, taking pictures, cooking, and was notorious for her Lincoln potatoes. She especially loved being with her family and going to her grandchildren’s sporting events. Judy also enjoyed going with her husband to bowling nights and talking with friends. Bowling led them to many different states, as well as to Europe. Judy was a member of the Senior Citizen Waco Deaf Club, her deaf friends social club, and was a lifetime member of the Southwest Deaf Bowling Club.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Jordan; brothers, Larry Hargiss, Ricky Allen, and Robert Allen; and a grandson, Keith Kessler.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 56 years, Walter Holder of Lacy Lakeview; her children, Veronica Lucko of Lacy Lakeview, Walter Jr. and Angela Holder of West, Ikie and Kasey Holder of Midlothian, and Selby and Karen Holder of West; two brothers, Terry Hargiss, and Donald and Kim Allen; a sister, Deborah Hargiss; her grandchildren, Joey Holder and Julia Reyes, Kevin and Angelina Austin, Dakota Holder, Ayden Holder, Kalyb Holder, Thomas Holder, Brad and Atalie Kroll, and Danielle Kroll and Brandon Miller; great-grandchildren, Jaycee, Keygun, Jaidlyn, Anaya, Rhyder, Jaden, Claire, Bruce, Bryce, Brecken, Atticus, and Annikka; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Dakota Holder, Ayden Holder, Kevin Austin, Joey Holder, Kalyb Holder, Brad Kroll, and Thomas “TJ” Holder.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Texas School for the Deaf.
