The Tarrant County College Sign Language Interpreting Program is growing and looking for enthusiastic Faculty members to join our team. We are very proud to be accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education (CCIE). We recently posted two positions, to start in January 2024. The first is a FT ASL Instructor position and the second is an Adjunct ASL/English Interpreting Instructor position. Please see the descriptions of each below. FT ASL Instructor
This position includes teaching American Sign Language classes that count as transferable credit and requires a Master’s degree or higher in Sign Language Interpreter, Deaf Education, Deaf Studies, American Sign Language, Special Education, or closely related discipline; or Master’s degree or higher and 18 graduate hours in Sign Language Interpreter, Deaf Education, Deaf Studies, ASL, Special Education, or a closely related discipline.
- Preferred skills include: 3 years’ experience in the field of teaching American Sign Language; Familiarity with programs such as Canvas and GoReact

ASL/English Interpreting Instructor
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Currently hold certification as: Board for Evaluation of Interpreters Advanced, Master, or Certified Deaf Interpreter; Registered Interpreters for the Deaf Certified Deaf Interpreter Certification, National Interpreter Certification, Certificate of Transliteration, or Certificate of Interpretation
- Three years of non-teaching work experience (i.e. work in the field of interpreting) * Preferred Skills: Familiarity with programs such as Canvas and GoReact
